Professional Experience

Studied at The Mido Academy(2023)

• I attended and successfully completed a cyber security up-skill, job readiness and mentorship program at the MiDO Academy, our training included the A+, Security+, Network+ and cybersecurity fundamentals. A blended learning approach ensured we were prepared for a career in cybersecurity and IT.

Orange Cyber Defensive Data enrichment training project(2023)

• During the program we had the opportunity to engage in a data enrichment project with Wicus Ross and Roberto Arico.
• The activity we were presented with had us clean up some dummy client breach data, to get a feel for how data is cleaned manually.
• The data would then be organised and indexed within a spreadsheet.

The Africa Cyber-lympics and Elastic Security Capture the flag(2023)

• These Challenges gave me the necessary exposure to some of the essential skills of the cyber security industry, including soft skills such as teamwork, communication, documentation and problem solving.
• Through using industry standard tools and techniques, we managed to solve some of the challenges presented to us, covering topics such as Stenography & obfuscation, decryption, OSINT, some reverse engineering, code review and basic log analysis.

4 Month Career Accelerator internship at Mobius Binary(2024)

• The training covered mainly the use of Burpsuite and Kali Linux Web app security testing training, using the Portswigger Web Security Academy's labs to practice.

StellieTech Datascience Course(2024)

• I did a short 3 month data science course at Stellietech and earned my Data+ certification
• Topics included data mining techniques, data visualisation, analysis and storage concepts

Allan Gray IT Security & Support Analyst Intern – (3 month Internship)(2024)

I had the opportunity to participate in an Internship training program at Allan Gray. There I was introduced into the security team within a non MSP/MDR setting, seeing how a business operates and manages it's own security and IT operations in house.

• My duties included performing daily security checks, device compliance checks, and vulnerability management. I have exposure to deploying security patches and updates using SCCM and intune.
• Worked a bit with Trellix and other EDR technologies such as Tenable Nessus and crowdstrike.
• Worked with technologies such as Tufin and Forescout to manage network security and policies.
• I also Learned some soft skills when engaging with other departments through technical support sessions and cross team collaborations.

Deployments and Systems engineering at Integrity 360, 2024-2026:

• Monitoring and investigating operational security incidents within client environments using Zabbix, Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, Puppet, Cyberfire, and Kibana.
• Ensuring client infrastructure have required visibility for Incident response teams to do their investigations, by deploying logging agents such as Auditbeat, Winlogbeat, Filebeat and configuring syslog as well as setting up logging services such as the Windows Event Forwarding and Windows Event Collection within our clients environments.
• Assisting clients with troubleshooting outages within their operational security technologies such as missing logs from their offline firewalls/services/devices/servers/endpoints etc.
